Since 2004, we’ve run Castle Narrowboats as a family, with the invaluable help of our son, Joe, and daughter, Annabel. Moving from Bristol to this stunning area was one of the best decisions we ever made, and we’re proud to share our passion for the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal with each of our guests. This canal holds a special place in our hearts, not only for its beauty but also for the friendly community that makes every visit here feel like home.
And, of course, there’s our unofficial team member, Ozzie the dog, who thinks he runs the show! He might not be much help with the boats, but he’s great at providing a warm welcome to our guests.

Positioned mid-way along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, we’re ideally placed for you to cruise in either direction, discovering the beauty and charm of South Wales at your own pace. Our private wharf and gift shop are more than just a hire base – it’s a place we call home. With easy access for loading, unloading, and ample parking, your holiday with Castle Narrowboats is set up for comfort from start to finish.
