The team at Castle Narrow Boats were absolutely fantastic, even with all of the current constrains (COVID) put upon them. We had 3 boats, all turned out spotless & well equipped. You’d want for nothing, everything had been thought of. Sharon had suggested getting a supermarket delivery direct to the boat yard, worked a dream. The briefing’s were 1st class as was the tuition. We were blessed with dry weather for the week and thoroughly enjoyed our time sauntering thorough the beautiful Brecon’s, the kids loved all the wildlife we spotted, from fish to birds & farm animals. The pubs/hostelries were very accommodating.

Thank you for our beautiful holiday on the Mon & Brec, the first visit for myself and Andy although Mum and Dad have been before but several years ago.  A stunning canal, one of the prettiest I’ve been on.  To wake up with a view from our bedroom door that cannot be beaten!! Thank you for your care and consideration especially in these difficult strange days.  We felt looked after, safe and appreciated the extra work that was involved.  We are grateful too for the ease with which we were able to delay our trip from 2020. We found the electric boat an interesting experience although the week become over focused on where we could charge the battery and how far we would be able to travel.  Not a complaint, an honest opinion, as we choose to try the electric and have appreciated the opportunity to do so. We hope, that in the future more charging points will be possible and more companies will take the initiative and bold step that you have. We trust you will continue to have a busy summer and future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week afloat, despite the constant rain and high winds! The boat is very comfortable, with every mod con, and quite easy to operate. Wonderfully quiet with its electric motor. The countryside of course is magnificent. At 2 mph we could enjoy the full panorama of mountains, wooded valleys and villages.

Firstly the Brecon & Monmouthshire canal is one of the most beautiful in the country. When we arrived at the very attractive boat yard we were greeted warmly by Sharon, Nick and Joe plus their 2 gorgeous dogs. Joe and Sharon gave us a friendly and informative talk about the workings and layout of the boat. All was explained very well. Cardiff Castle is very well equipped and clean and comfortable. It has a very efficient modern toilet and washing facilities with a good shower too. The beds are very comfortable so we got a good nights sleep. The boat is very responsive to the tiller which is a great help when negotiating some of the bends on the canal. When our holiday ended we again got another warm welcome. I didn’t want to leave the boat as I had grown very fond of it and we are likely to do it again and explore more of the canal. We will be using Castle Narrowboats again. We have used various boat hire companies before but they are the best. We had a great holiday. Thank you Sharon, Nick and Joe

We had the time of our life, enjoying the narrow boat trip on Cardiff Castle last September.

The training before the launch was very thorough and instructive. The boat was in impeccable condition and perfectly on schedule when we started the trip. What a beautiful scenery we navigated through. We also greatly enjoyed the friendly help we received along the way, crossing the locks and lift bridges.
